AUSTRALIA

Australia is a land of contrasts, from the incredible scenery of tropical Queensland, to the light shows of Vivid Sydney, to the living land infused with 50,000 years of dreamtime. Northeast Queensland is home to the oldest tropical forest on earth, which has survived continuously for 180 million years. An hour or two off the coast is the Great Barrier Reef. Between the  continent and the reef are the Whitsunday Islands. We spent an enjoyable week on one of the islands, flown out and back in a Cessna. I think maybe two other people were living there.

Australia is the only continent-nation in the world, about the size of the continental United States. As far as inhabited continents go, it is the smallest, flattest, and driest, which might explain the great beer there.
