Enchanted lengua forests, glacial streams and waterfalls, bright blue alpine lakes and dramatic mountains — Patagonia has been on our list for a long while. We enjoyed long hikes through the mountains, boating on Lago del Desierto, and relaxing in sublime comfort at Aguas Arriba, a remote mountain lodge. The local gastronomy was outstanding, and the warmth and helpful nature of the people we met was second to none.
But the main attraction in Patagonia is the wonderland of nature. There are miles and miles of walking trails through Argentinean and Chilean Patagonia — I would like nothing more than to be dropped there at this instant with a full backpack and weeks to wander.
